Hello Marcelo. Reading these comments above make me think about the use of “-“. How does it work in English ? In Portuguese we know that recently a lot of words doesn’t have “-” anymore (please correct me if I’m wrong). Is there any rule to use “-” in English ??
Thanks!!
Hello Glauber,
If you are talking about “hyphens”, it is called: Hyphenated Words. I advise you to do a research on Google, just type in Hyphenated Words. I think the first result, from Oxford Dictionary is the best.
All the best.
It’s much easier to untaesdrnd when you put it that way!
Hello! How is it going?
I have been learning such a good expression with you; so I’m gonna use one of I learned wilth you now.
“I know english but I’m not know it all it.”
I would like to know from you, whether my example is right or not.
I put “it” in the final, is it correct? I think that it is not necessary; am I right?
Thank you very much for your patience to give us your pod casts.
God bless you!
Hello Fátima,
Yes, you are right! It’s not necessary to add “it” at the end of the sentence, you can just say: I know English, but I’m not a know-it-all.
Marcelo
If time is money you’ve made me a wehaltier woman.
Sincere sympathy to all of the family, especially Erma and Judy. So many memories from our younger days. When I think of your mom I always see her in the setting of First Christian. She was so steadfast, one of those reliable people who sought no fanfare. I admired her and you girls.Peace,Joan

Hey, Marcelo. How’s it going?
This tip reminded me a Glee episode when Santanna is not allowed in the Glee Club anymore and she says: “Well, I could use some time”.
Great tip, as usual. Thanks.
Hello! I’m trying to learn english alone and with your blog stayed better for sure! Thank you so much!!
Hi! I’ve learned a lot with all tips from this blog and i’m so grateful for this but, as ever, i’d like to have a doubt to be cleared up, if you allow me. The doubt is: If i want to express “Eu não sou um sabichão”, i could say: I’m not a kind OF KNOW-it-all person OR I’m not a kind OF KNOWING-IT-ALL person. Which one is correct? Thank you so much!
Hello Álvaro,
Thanks for your question.
You can just say: “I’m not a know-it-all” simple as that!
If you want to emphasize and talk about a specific subject you can say: I’m definitely not a know-it-all “tech/gamer/cook/engineer” etc, or yet, you can say “I’m not a know-it-all when it comes to “teaching/cooking/playing/engineering” etc.
Álvaro – the answer to your question is in the post! Have a read…
